Johnson Cleaners are one of the ‘Best Green Companies’

Johnson Cleaners are delighted to announce that they are one of the ‘Sunday Times Best Green Companies’, debuting at Number 45 on the list.
Now in its third year, this initiative recognises the companies large and small and of varying environmental impacts, which are making a real difference in their environmental performance. This survey uniquely takes account not only of the achievement of green targets and thrust of corporate strategies, but also the views of more than 26,000 employees - the people who daily put company environmental policies into practice.
Johnson Cleaners have made great progress with the roll out of ‘GreenEarth’, an environmentally friendly dry cleaning process which uses pure liquid silicone. Liquid silicone is a safe and natural by-product of sand that doesn’t chemically interact with fabric at all. The same gentle ingredient is used in many everyday shampoos, conditioners and lotions. So it’s better for you and your clothing, better for the environment and it doesn’t cost any extra.
In addition to this, Johnson Cleaners have reduced its carbon footprint significantly and its hanger recycling scheme in its branch network ‘Hand back your hangers’ has seen a reduction in the hangers it produced in 2009 of 21 per cent compared to 2008.
