JOHNSON CLEANERS EXPANDS EXPERT TAILORING SERVICE
19/06/12
Johnson Cleaners, the UK’s leading dry cleaning provider, has rolled out its Sewing Room concept to nine further stores across the UK, following the hugely succesful trial at its Ilkeston branch.
From May, the nine further stores across the UK are offering garment tailoring and fitting as well as the opportunity to take their own designs to be created by the seamstress. In addition to this, services including curtain alterations and trouser shortening will also be available.
Johnson Cleaners has invested £200,000 into the nine sewing rooms, after the success of the Sewing Room in Ilkeston, which saw turnover on alterations and repairs triple in just six months.
The Sewing Rooms are purpose built areas inside the company’s exisiting branch locations, giving a dedicated space for a seamstress to work and customers to be measured for alterations in private.
Johnson Cleaners managing director, Paul Ogle, commented: “The investment into launching the new Sewing Rooms demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest level of convenience and wide range of services for our customers.
“In the current economic climate, we are living in a ‘make do and mend’ culture and the new Sewing Room gives our customers the opportunity to repair and update their wardrobes without having to spend a fortune on new clothes.”
The stores are located in Newport (Isle of White), Lichfield, Retford, Stamford, Norwich, Richmond, Keighley, Market Harborough and Beverley.
