Johnson Cleaners have helped raise over £7,000 for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation after a fundraising day held on Saturday 20th November.

November was Lung Cancer Awareness month and to support this, 107 Johnson Cleaners branches across the country held a variety of fundraising events which included raffles, prize draws and fancy dress days.

The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation works in a variety of ways to reach the goal of defeating lung cancer. This includes carrying out unique research into the early detection of lung cancer, which will hopefully lead to early diagnosis and save thousands of lives.
Alongside important research, the Foundation also offers practical and emotional support for those affected by lung cancer, support for smokers who want to quit, and guidance for children and young people to make informed decisions about smoking and the tobacco industry.

Johnson Cleaners managing director, Paul Ogle, said: “We are delighted to raise such a significant amount of money for such a worthwhile cause. The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation is a tremendous charity and we are pleased that this money can go towards fighting this tragic disease.”

Matthew Boyle, director of fundraising at The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, said: “On behalf of everyone at The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, I would like to thank Johnson Cleaners’ staff and customers for their fantastic support. To raise over £7,000 in just one day is a real achievement and the money raised will go towards our important work to defeat lung cancer.”
